Didn’t get to drive it, mind you, but still cool. Brand new ‘18 GT2 RS with the Weissach package in Riviera Blue, optioned up to a $400,000 MSRP.

Really cool! How much is a normal GT2? I didn’t think they were anywhere near $400,000.

$293k.

So good to see one in that color. Seems like you only see them in black, red or chalk.

Yup. This one’s paint-to-sample too.

I haven’t seen reports of anyone absconding with the GT2, so clearly you did it wrong.

Wow so around $100,000 in options. That does sound like Porsche. I’d happily take a GT3 RS instead for $187,000.

I was going to comment about not dying but you didn’t drive it so I thank you. Lunch on the wing?

Optioned up to $356,840 at the factory.
Additional ‘ dealer- installed’ options of $42,155

So crazy that a $100k car can go all the way up to $400k. Worth maybe $175-200 sure, but no where near 400.

Paint to sample yet it’s an unsold 2018?
Must be a good story in there somewhere. Guy who ordered it was subsequently indicted?

Nope, it was in the owner of our dealership’s personal Porsche stash for the duration. It was painted to match his 918, which he already sold. Hence it’s a year old but never been titled.

Price for this car was $356,840 from the factory. I posted the build sheet below.

Found the car, looked up the VIN. $356k msrp with a 43k markup.
Hardly any GT2 RS’s are sold without some form of markup, though 43k is on the low side from what I’ve seen (my dealer recently had a Cobalt Blue car with 150k ADM). And it’s not possible to get these up to $400k sticker without some CXX options.

Most GT2 RS’s so far are paint to sample.

Dealers are ordering paint-to-sample GT2 RS’s and GT3's all the time these days without having a sold order , then tacking on HUGE ADM’s.
Note: Not GT3 RS. Porsche has not opened up PTS to those.

Interesting- I always thought most of those were built to customer order, and I wouldn’t expect a dealer to order a PTS spec car. But then again, if they assume your average GT2RS wants a color that stands out, it makes sense.
There’s 1 GT2RS near me, and it’s a plain Jane grey car.

Ok that makes sense. So it has a few miles on it then.

Yeah he’s got a huge collection of incredibly impressive Porsches that don’t really move much.

PTS is supposed to be for sold orders, but dealers are greedy. Make a rare car even more rare by ordering it PTS, and you can tack on way more markup.
